Most people think of George Town as the #1 place to go to in Asia for amazing collections of street art. We love Penang but were surprised by how much Ipoh has to offer tourists.
However, not many know about Ipoh. The once-booming city prospered on the back of mining fortunes but was quickly forgotten as demand for tin wained.
Ipoh has much of the same great food that we’ve come to expect from Malaysia, as well as a long history and interesting art and coffee scene that we were previously unaware of.
Is it possible that Ipoh – not George Town – is Malaysia’s king of street art?
Take a look at the photos below and let us know what you think!
